group lessons levels
Introduction to Water Skills Participants learn how to use a life jacket, submerge their mouth, nose and eyes underwater, pick up a submerged object, swim on front and back using arm and leg actions, exhale underwater and float on front and back.
Fundamental Aquatic Skills Participants submerge their entire head and are introduced to the front and back glide. Participants tread water using arm and leg motions, bob in water and swim using combined stroke on front and back.
Stroke Development Participants submerge to retrieve an object. They also learn front and back glide and crawl, a kneeling or standing dive (shallow dive progression), rotary breathing in the horizontal position, survival and back float, butterfly-kick and body motion.
Stroke Improvement Participants swim front crawl and backstroke for 25 yards; breaststroke and back crawl for 15 yards and learn open turns on the front and back.
Stroke Refinement Participants swim front crawl and backstroke for 50 yards; breaststroke and back crawl for 15 yards and learn a shallow-angle dive into deep water.
