At Germantown Athletic Club, we are dedicated to continuously elevating your member experience and creating a vibrant space for your health and wellness. With that in mind, we are thrilled to share some big news regarding our aquatic facilities: the upcoming transformation of our indoor natatorium (indoor pool area)!
Moving forward with this project requires two formal approvals from the City of Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The first approval was granted in late August to secure funding, while the second, to award the construction contract, is expected in late September. Pending this final approval, construction will most likely begin sometime in November 2026, with an estimated six-month timeline for completion.
This project will deliver necessary mechanical upgrades, modern structural improvements, enhanced accessibility, and refreshed amenities to ensure we offer a revitalized facility that will serve members for years to come.
Members can look forward to several major upgrades in the indoor pool space:
Mechanical Infrastructure: A complete overhaul and replacement of all mechanical systems for both the indoor pool and whirlpool to optimize water quality and ensure more consistent water temperatures
Sail & Overhead Equipment: Full replacement of the sail structure near the ceiling, combined with the cleanup and removal of legacy overhead equipment to create a refreshed atmosphere
Updated Deck & Accessibility Ramp: A newly resurfaced pool deck along with a zero-depth entry ramp in the shallow end, providing improved access for swimmers of all ages and abilities
Ductwork for Dehumidifier: Retrofitting and reconfiguring ductwork for the dehumidifier to improve air quality and humidity control
To make the member experience even better, this project scope also includes major updates to some of our other amenities:
Ladies’ Locker Room (near indoor pool)
Family Changing Rooms (near indoor pool)
Both Outdoor Pool Locker Rooms
Due to the scale of the mechanical and structural work, the indoor pool area will be closed for the full duration of the renovation. However, to minimize disruption, the locker rooms and family changing areas will only be closed while actively undergoing updates.
We genuinely understand that the pool is a special place for many of you, and we’re truly sorry for the disruption this temporary closure will cause to your routine. While we regret this inconvenience, we are confident that these improvements will create a refreshed, modern space that you will enjoy.
